T-Shirt Transfer Image Application Directions

.
1)   Please read all instructions completely before you begin.
.
2)   Select a garment to apply the t-shirt transfer image onto.  The garment can be any colored or black cotton or poly/cotton blend garment or bag.  For the best results, pre-wash and iron the garment before applying the t-shirt transfer image.
.
3)    Prepare an area for ironing the t-shirt transfer image onto the garment.
.

a)

  Find a well-ventilated room.
.
  b)    Set up or locate a clean, hard smooth surface that is at waist level or lower.  DO NOT use an ironing board or glass surface.  A Formica surface is recommended.  (CAUTION: Any pattern, crack, or imperfection in the chosen ironing surface can show up on the final transferred image)
.

c)

Iron a large pillowcase to remove any wrinkles.  Drape the pillowcase over the ironing surface, making sure the pillowcase is perfectly flat and any pillowcase seams are away from the transfer ironing area.
.
Lay the garment you will apply the transfer image to onto the center of the pillowcase surface.  Once again, make sure there are NO wrinkles in the garment.  If necessary, iron the garment again to remove any wrinkles and allow the garment to cool.

4)   Prepare the transfer image for the garment.

a)

Using a pair of scissors carefully cut out the transfer image provided.  Make sure to round off all corners of the image so that it adheres better to the fabric.
.
b)    Peel the grid paper off the back of the transfer image.
.
      c)   Carefully position the transfer image FACE UPWARD onto the garment in the area you wish the transfer image to be. (NOTE: This is how the final image will appear when you are finished.
   .
 5)       Iron the transfer image onto the garment. ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED!
.
   a)

Place the supplied ironing paper over the entire transfer image, making sure that the ironing paper covers the entire transfer image. (NOTE: This step ensures the iron does not come into direct contact with the transfer image during ironing, since direct contact will melt the transfer image)
  .
  b)      Set the iron to its highest cotton setting.  DO NOT use steam. (Note: Using steam will wrinkle the transfer image)  Preheat the iron for 5 minutes.
  .

c)

For a large transfer image (about an 8” X 10”), use very light pressure (only the weight of the iron) to iron the transfer image onto the garment for 1˝ minutes.  Be sure to hold the ironing paper in place so it does not slip once you begin ironing.  Next apply firm pressure downward (using both hands) to iron the entire transfer again for an additional 1˝ minutes, keeping the iron in a constant smooth motion.
  .
d)        For a small transfer image (about 4” X 5”), use very light pressure (only the weight of the iron) to iron the transfer image onto the garment for 30 seconds.  Be sure to hold the ironing paper in place so it does not slip once you begin ironing.  Next apply firm pressure downward (using both hands) to iron the entire transfer again for an additional 30 seconds, keeping the iron in a constant smooth motion.
.
 6)   Removing the ironing paper.
.

a)

Let the transfer image cool for approximately 2 minutes or until it is cool enough to touch.
.
b)        Peel away the ironing paper from the cooled transfer image using an even, smooth motion.
.
7)    That’s it!  Congratulations, you’re done!
